     Winchester 1886 / Model 71


 

Looking for a receiver sight for your Winchester / Browning / Chiappa Model 1886 / Model 71?  This sight sits low and rugged positioning the "peep" on top of the bolt.  Unlike tang mounted sights, the SKINNER 1886 sight allows a normal "thumb over wrist" carry of the rifle and is not hitting you in the nose during stiff recoil.  Tang sights are often down when you want them up, up when you want them down and are easily bent out of position.  NOT SO with our SKINNER 1886 sight.    This is a VERY RUGGED sight, machined from SOLID BAR STOCK, and adjustable for WINDAGE and ELEVATION.

            and as used on the Skinner Sights 1886  BUSH PILOT (Shown)

      Requires two 6-48 holes drilled and tapped on top of the bolt .860" C~C

Looking for a receiver sight for your Winchester / Browning 1895?

For several years I've been using Winchester 1895 reproductions for much of my hunting both in the US and Internationally.



These rifles are "romantic", beautiful, and effective in the field.

Adding a Skinner bolt  mounted peep sight makes all the difference in sight radius, a superior aperture sighting system, and a more rugged set up than historical peeps for this rifle.



No promises but this sight generally works with the factory front sight.
If a front sight change is needed, we are here to help with the selection.



The Winchester bolt returns to zero and accuracy is superb.  The 30-06 pictured here shoots 1 moa with 165 gr. Barnes TTSX bullets.  What a great combo!

Due to the many calibers and variations, front Sight height is best determined by installing the new SKINNER "EXPRESS" sight and shooting on paper at a known distance with the factory front sight.
