THE GUIDE GUN SET

Guide_Set_E

In response to YOUR needs, Marlin brought out the incredible
GUIDE GUN Series of rifles. These handy and quality rifles
have been a tremendous success with shooters all over the
world. We offer the Guide Gun Owner a special set of
SKINNER SIGHTS that includes a "RAMPED FRONT" that is
.070" wide. This special front sight reduces snagging in the
scabbard and brush, is wide enough to see quickly yet narrow
enough to not obscure the target. Our Guide Front Sight is nicely
serrated on the back to reduce glare.

AS RUGGED AS THE MEN AND AS BEAUTIFUL AS THE WOMEN WHO LIVE THERE.....

The Skinner "ALASKAN" offers 1/2" more sight radius, bringing the aperture/peep even closer to your eye for a more clear field of view.

This sight covers the full length of the 1895 or 336 (or any of the large frame Marlins) receiver flat, blending the lines even further than the beautiful EXPRESS Sight.

1895 Full Length Rail

With INTEGRAL PEEP

Model

This 13" Scout Rifle type length, the SKINNER 1895 Full Length Rail fits the bill for those who like options.  Machined from a solid block of Aluminum and finished with a black anodizing.

THIS RAIL FITS THE NEW 1895 MARLINS BUILT BY RUGER

(I have mounted these on some earlier built Marlins but the dovetail spacing varies in positioning.  We do not promise (or warranty) the spacing will be correct for pre RUGER built rifles.)

Featuring the Skinner Minimalist Peep Sight in the rear of the rail

Peep Sight Machined from Solid Steel Barstock, Ships with one .096" aperture installed
(Accepts any of our 5 different size apertures)
This peep is fully adjustable for windage and elevation.  Locks down tight with ZERO wiggle or play and is rugged as the rifle itself.

Peep height above receiver is the same as our EXPRESS and ALASKAN sights

This sight utilizes all four receiver screw holes and the forward barrel dovetail slot for mounting.  A steel dovetail blank with robust 8-40 screw hole fits into the barrel slot and is invisible once the rail is mounted.  This gives a very sleek and trim look to the rail.

Dovetail blank may need very slight fitting.  Generally, no gunsmithing is required.

ADJUSTING THE SKINNER SIGHT

Windage adjustment is accomplished by sliding the dovetail piece left or right in its slot.

The fit is tight, so you may need a
BRASS PUNCH to move it. Once adjusted, it is locked in place with the set screw on top of the sight in front of the peep.

When adjusting, move the rear sight in the direction you want to bullet impact to move.

Elevation adjustment is accomplished by turning the peep on its threaded shaft to raise or lower the aperture. One half turn will move the point of impact about 2 inches at 100 yards, depending on your sight radius. The aperture can be threaded into the peep stem from either side. Once adjusted, the peep stem is locked in place using the set screw on the side of the dovetail piece.

To install the 1895 or 336 sight it is necessary to remove the dovetail piece to tighten the mounting screw under the dovetail.

Caution is required to avoid injury when the dovetail piece is removed.  The corners of the dovetail slot are sharp. Use a BRASS PUNCH wooden dowel,  or plastic punch to remove the dovetail.

This sight measures .480" from the top of the receiver to the center of the aperture.
